From Artic Blast to Heat Wave!

Tomorrow I take off for an adventure in Santiago, Chile. I'm excited, but my poor body is getting worn out and confused from all the traveling lately - San Antonio, Canada (snow!), home for a weekend, and now Santiago for two. The weather should be... gorgeous! (http://bit.ly/62V66b).

If you want to keep up with what's going on in Santiago while I'm there, here is Chile's English newspaper, http://www.santiagotimes.cl/ .

I'm excited for the trip, but not for the long flight, new airport security measures and the Chilean Customs strike (http://bit.ly/4vaKRk) between here and there! Hopefully I'll be able to blog regularly to share photos & adventures!

Vancouver

Travis had to go to Canada to renew his work visa, so I tagged along for a trip to Vancouver, British Columbia - and we took a 24-hour trip over to Victoria too. BC is GORGEOUS.

We got to know this bridge pretty well...

The ferry to Victoria:

On the ferry (wishing I had sunglasses...)

In Victoria:

Found a cute little place for lunch:

Darth Vader playing the violin on the street:

"Sea Stars" (starfish):

i had NO idea how big octopus can be:

gorgeous! we walked around all evening:

Had so much fun we decided to stay the night in Victoria -
here was our last-minute, 2-level hotel room... with the PERFECT view of the water :) We even had Travis' friends over late-night, it was like our little home!

Views from the ferry - there was a chance of seeing sea critters (otters, whales, etc), but no such luck :( Still, it was very relaxing (but windy!)

Views from the airplane back to Houston...

(I love that the last pic is snow-capped mountains!)

Day 15 (Paris)

Last day in Paris...
We got up really early to wait in line trying to get tickets to the French Open. No luck :(

We got some pastries and had a nice little breakfast in a park :)

Amazing old architecture. You won't find this in Houston...

The prettiest bathrooms EVER.
(and the toliet paper was pink!)

An old Mini and a new Mini.

Long walk ahead...

The view was worth it!
